On Friday 30th September, Woodford Primary School held its official Opening Ceremony.

Parents, trustees, teachers, developers and members of the local community all came together to celebrate the opening of this brand-new school.

The day began with talks from Executive Head, Lisa Woolley, and Head of School, Elise Drake.

Mrs Woolley gave special mention to people who had made big contributions to the opening of the school, handing them a Woodford badge.

Attendees then heard from the Laurus Trust’s CEO, Linda Magrath, and Stockport Council’s Wendy Meikle.

Following the speeches, everyone headed outside to see Woodford Primary’s tree which was planted to commemorate the opening of the school.

Woodford Primary’s new tree was kindly donated by Notcutts Garden Centres

Pupils from Reception and Pre-School came out to watch as their Head of School cut the green ribbon and declared Woodford Primary School officially open.

House Captain pupils helped plant their new tree.

The pupils warmly welcomed all in attendance to their school, telling them: “at Woodford Primary School, we dream big so we can fly high!”

We would like to say a big thank you to Notcutts for their kind donation of our new tree, to Redrow and Stockport Council for attending, and to all who joined us in celebrating this special occasion.

We would also like to express our gratitude to all of our supporters who made Woodford Primary School a reality!
