Year 1
Summer Term
We are excited for another fun-filled term of learning and exploration in Year 1.
We will continue to strive to make your child’s experience in education special, continuing to develop their relationship with their teacher and learning support assistants, who will support them and ensure that their emotional and academic needs are met daily. Our aim is for your children to become confident learners and to carry their love of learning throughout their lives.
Summer Bookshelf
The inspirational texts on our Summer Bookshelf will inspire our learning across the curriculum. We will look at the world through the eyes of Nyla in ‘The Comet’. Nyla is a little girl who has recently moved from the countryside to the city. She misses her old home immensely but begins to find ways to connect her old memories with her new experiences.
We will consider Beegu’s first impression of planet Earth and explore the similarities and differences of life in outer space and planet Earth using the book ‘The Darkest Dark’. We will delve into the enchanted world of fairytales through ‘Little Red Reading Hood’, a twist on the traditional tale loved by many.
